Our mission is to improve the lives of community cats through Trap, Neuter, Return (TNR), while fostering those who can be placed into loving homes. Here are just a few of the 350 cats and kittens who have been spayed, neutered, fostered, and cared for in the city of Calipatria, CA.

Some stories begin with a single cat. Others involve entire colonies of community cats. Our mission is to improve their lives through Trap, Neuter, Return (TNR), while giving adoptable kittens and friendly cats the opportunity to find loving homes through Southern Counties Rescue.

Bonita Street Rescue
December 2025
In December 2025, Calipatcats completed a large TNR project on Bonita Street, helping 14 community cats get spayed, neutered, released, and fostered. Among them were two unforgettable cats:
Bonita
Bonita quickly became known for her playful personality and remarkable talent. Bonita can pitch the ball back to you and fetch when you throw it. She has a remarkable skill set.
Earl
Earl rarely leaves Bonita's side. Calm, protective, and incredibly devoted, he's become her loyal companion, bodyguard, and best friend.
Because of their close bond, Bonita and Earl are looking for a forever home together. They are available for adoption through Southern Counties Rescue in Brawley, CA, and are ready to be adopted together as a pair.

Prison Rescue Mission
One of our largest community cat projects took place at a correctional facility, where 36 cats were trapped, spayed/neutered, and cared for as part of our TNR efforts.
Among them were 10 young kittens that were too young to be returned. They received veterinary care, socialization, and were placed in foster homes until they could be adopted through Southern Counties Rescue.
Large-scale TNR projects like this require tremendous community support, but they make a lasting difference by improving the lives of entire cat colonies while giving adoptable kittens the opportunity to find loving forever homes.
